Leave your laptop downstairs while you concentrate of beat creation with the AKAI MPC X. Whilst retaining the popular workflow of the original MPC, the suped-up MPC X adds more buttons and knobs, giving you quicker access to the multiple features available. How has the MPCX improved you ask? Standalone functionality, CV outputs, audio track recording, clip launching and the MPC 2.0 software are just a few of the improvements made. This isn’t just the next generation of MPCs, this is a real step up on the industry standard.
The MPC X is designed to enhance your workflow. A touch-screen control makes editing as simple as operating your phone or tablet. Combined with the stand alone capability and intuitive layout of the MPC X, the result is an immersive music making machine capable of taking your music career to the next level.
The AKAI MPC X hardware will make you rethink your current studio setup. 16 Velocity and pressure sensitive backlit pads provide the typical MPC response, allowing every nuance of your creativity to be captured. These creations can then be manipulated with the 16 touch-sensitive knobs, each with an individual screen ensuring you know exactly what you’re inputting. On top of this, 66 further buttons put rooting and editing at your fingertips, making sure no time is wasted scrolling through menus.
Not only can the MPC X operate alone, it will also integrate seamlessly with your current setup through studio-grade inputs and outputs. Most importantly, 8 balanced outputs will connect your MPC X for monitoring and signal routing. Plus, a combination of XLR, balanced 1/4-inch, and Turntable RCA inputs, plus switchable phantom power (+48v), direct hardware monitoring, interactive VU metering, dual 1/4-inch & 1/8-inch headphone outputs and pristine high-resolution capture ensures rapid assimilation into your setup and an unprecedented production experience.
Although connectivity to your DAW can be easily achieved, many features found in recording software can found within MPC X. When creating samples, time-stretching and pitch shifting functions make it easy. The MPC 2.0 software also allows for Toggle/One Shot launch modes, loop-specific RGB pad colour configurations, automatic BPM detection and automatic tempo lock.
New editing features with MPC 2.0 software eliminate the need for external software further. Features including Pointer, Eraser, Audition, Marquee and Scissors tools are all accessible via the tablet like touch screen. These features make audio editing, such as fade in/out, reverse, mute and BPM adjust simple on on the MPC X.
A redesigned GUI in MPC 2.0 not only modernises the MPC X, but reacts intuitively with the hardware. The ability to resize separate components to meet individual needs will make you consider leaving your laptop at home!
